Twenty Nine South Dublin County Councillors call on Cement Roadstone Holdings To Divest from Israeli Construction Company

palestineAt June’s South Dublin County Council monthly meeting People Before Profit Councillor Gino Kenny made reference to Cement Roadstone Holdings ongoing involvement with the Mashav group in Israel.

Mashav owns Nesher Cement Enterprises. Nesher cement is being used in the construction of the illegal Separation wall, the Jerusalem Light Railway project, the illegal colonial settlements and the network of apartheid settler-only roads, underpasses, bridges and tunnels in occupied Palestine. The 29 Councillors from all different parties and none are calling on CRH to review their ongoing investment in the Mashav construction company.

Speaking about  the letter Cllr Kenny said,” I think it’s important that CRH continuing investment in the state of Israel is highlighted. All over the world companies are reviewing their commercial links with Israel because of the ongoing siege of Gaza and the terrible suffering of the civilian population. CRH should immediately disinvest from the Mashav group as it clearly is contrary to CRH own ethical governance. Their ongoing commercial interest in Mashav is copper fastening  21st Century apartheid of the Palestinian people”

To Whom It May Concern,

We understand that currently CRH is reviewing its strategic global operations around the world. Under this strategic review we the named Councillors below are calling on CRH to disinvest from the Mashav group as CRH continuing investment in this group contradicts their own ethical governance and the human rights of Palestinians.
