People Before Profit TD Gino Kenny has contacted Dublin Bus in relation to better public transport links between South West Clondalkin and Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.
A petition was circulated around the locality before Christmas calling on Dublin Bus to review better connectivity from South West Clondalkin to Liffey Valley. Many people either shop or work in the Liffey Valley from Bawnogue. The petition was signed by hundreds of people and will be handed to Dublin Bus at the end of the month. Later this week People Before Profit public representatives Gino Kenny and Cllr Madeleine Johansson have arranged to Dublin Bus formally to raise the issue.
Cllr Johansson and Mr Kenny said ” This issue has been raised numerous times over the years. A number of years ago the 210 serviced this particular area of Clondalkin to get people to Liffey Valley and Tallaght Hospital that service was axed in 2011. Because of the inaccessible from South West Clondalkin commuters sometimes have to get two buses to get to Liffey Valley or walk at least twenty minutes to the nearest 76 bus stop. We are calling on Dublin Bus via the National Transport Agency to review the lack of public transport in this particular area”
