The government has slashed the subvention to bus services. In 2009 we were already one of the lowest in Europe. They then cut the public services obligation levy by another 35%. It’s this lack of money from government that leaves our public bus service reliant on upping fares while the service is run down. Workers lose out, customers lose out. Support the bus workers as they strike from next monday. Defend workers’ wages and our public services.

People Before Profit want a public bus service, with decent wages for workers, low fares for the public and all paid for through taxation the burden of which should fall on the super wealthy.
