The TD said that he was glad for the clarification from the CJEU and that he plans to raise the matter in the Dáil next week with the Health Minister Stephen Donnelly.
He said: “This ruling from the CJEU is one that will be welcomed by campaigners for medicinal cannabis across the European Union as it confirms that CBD is not a narcotic as it does not does not appear to have any psychotropic effect or any harmful effect on human health, in the words of the court.
“I intend to raise this issue with the Minister for Health next week where I will also be seeking an update on the progress of the Cannabis Access Programme.”
